I gave this 4 stars because it advertises the ability to put LEDs on the top or bottom. I ordered 2 pcs. soap bubbles and light. I ordered this bubbler first and after reading the box and instructions I should have gotten the light that came with it. So I ordered another bubbler and 2 lamps. Headlights don't fit. The pin is too big to fit in the hole. To get the effect it shows on the box you have to connect the light separately to the side of the bubbler and then it doesn't sit upright which is really visible when the light is on. In other words, instead of letting nice straight light shine through bubbles, curved light will shine wherever it bends. Very disappointed with this false Hydor advertisement. These aren't cheap things when put together. I spent about $80 for two sets and can't connect them as instructed and on the boxes. Otherwise the colors are very nice. However, one light appears stronger than the other. I place one in each corner of the back of the tank (55 gallons) and plug them into different outlets at different times so that when one light is blue the other is a different color. I noticed that after turning them on, they switch to both colors of the same color for a while. Good effect! It's just a pity that they are not attached as advertised. I have emailed Hydor but have not received a response from them. The suction cups that Hydor offers are really good. They have a square slot for a power cord and a round slot for a hose and even room on the side for a smaller wire. The power cord is very strong, so it is difficult to lay the bubbler flat on the bottom of the tank. You can bury both the bubbler and the light all the way to the top with rocks to keep it in place. I know this review is going to be about a bubbler I have no complaints about, good bubble flow and they reach the top of my tank, are about 18 inches and I would say they are probably about 6 in diameter Customs. when it flows. With some plants to hide any black strings, the bubbles and light create a very pleasing effect. I have to mention one more thing about the bubbler. It comes with a tiny filter (about 1 inch long) that you need to place on top of the tank. There are already holes in my lid so I just pushed the hose through the hole. You don't need a separate channel. Pump for them, but be warned! If you have cats who like to sit on your tank, you'd better slide this little filter to the side of the tank and tape it so they can't reach it. My girlfriend thought it was something to play with and I took it off and chewed it for a minute after turning around. a very small foam filter that fits inside. (about 1/4 square inch). They only send 1 in a set and I have emailed Hydor to find out how I can get more. So far I haven't received any response from them on this issue. They have a place that says "Spare Parts" but no part numbers. Or how to order. They have an office in California so I think they will be responsive to their customers. You've answered one of the questions I asked before purchasing my first bubbler, but hadn't heard about lights or filters. Overall, both items are very well made and work great, just not advertised as a set.
