Review on Enhanced Viewing 1920x1080p, 75Hz, Adaptive Sync VA2055SA Monitor by ViewSonic by Anthony Kidd

Revainrating 4 out of 5

The bright, widescreen HD screen is a pain in the ass.

Good: Vivid HD widescreen at 1920 x 1080. Once set up, no problem. Very bright, no dead pixels. Widescreen HD backlit screen, Viewsonic quality. BAD: Fatal setup problem. 5 Tiny buttons at the bottom of the screen are almost indistinguishable. Tiny black ID cards on a black background. No help from the supplied manual. Setting any of the required screen options is an exercise in desperation. The monitor kept reminding me on screen that the 1920 resolution was the best. This reminder kept appearing in the middle of the screen when trying to install a new operating system. The monitor only has 1 VGA (AKA DSub) input. There are no DVI or HDMI inputs, so check your video card's outputs to make sure you have a VGA output, or buy an adapter. Rating updated: upgraded to 4 stars after 2 weeks of use. Great monitor for a computer, but difficult to set up.

Pros
  • clear image. easy setup. good deal for the money
Cons
  • Screen Tearing: This occurs when the monitor's refresh rate is too slow, causing the image to appear choppy or distorted.
