. and functions were concerned. My headache started almost immediately. I had problems installing Windows 10 from USB. It turned out that for some reason this board did not support new flash drives in the BIOS , but luckily I had an old 8 gigabyte drive lying around. It wasted several hours of my time and I would never have noticed if it wasn't for the internet. After that everything seemed fine for a while and I was happy with the motherboard, including Armory Crate, an application designed to help you control and manage various aspects of your computer, including software and T rub! Well, unfortunately, it turns out that Armory Crate doesn't work very well. First, iCue doesn't have any integration with their Aura software, so either leave it alone or use the iCue software's Kludge plugin to control the lights on the motherboard and RAM you have. I take the blame for not researching the various lighting standards thoroughly enough. Second, however, Armory Crate does a terrible job of keeping you informed. I just checked and many of my drivers were up to date but there was one that had a newer driver available for 1.5 months. And yet Armory Crate insists I have the latest version. It also does a terrible job of updating the BIOS! I installed 1202 and AC says I have the latest version, but there have been five non-beta versions since mine. I'm having trouble getting system stability and I don't overclock ANYTHING. I play WoW, watch Netflix and surf the web so I don't have to look for extra performance. My system crashes between 1 and 5 times a week, seemingly randomly. I couldn't figure out what was wrong. When this happens, the amber DRAM LED lights up, but the Windows memory diagnostic tool HCI MemTest and Karhu say my memory is fine. Obviously this board is very memory intensive and some people have problems and others don't. I use DOCP for preferred timing and RAM voltage. Yes, my memory is on QVL. Of course I had to run HCI MemTest when Windows was on since I can't boot into a bootable USB. I've tried all sorts of solutions to disable UEFI and secure boot but nothing seems to work. In fact, when I turn on the CSM, my computer can't even boot properly because it thinks there is no graphics adapter. I use the 6900 XT so another complaint about this board. Finally, I tried updating my BIOS thinking maybe it was related to my weird problems. but the files and instructions provided by ASUS just don't work. I download the zipped BIOS, use your utility to rename the file, transfer it to a USB drive, and then use the EzFlash utility in the BIOS setup program to select the file from the USB drive. When I do this, I get a message that this is not a valid BIOS file. Phew, I give up! To be honest, a lot of this is far from the end of the world. I have a largely stable PC and it does what I need it to do. But if you're buying a motherboard for almost $200, IT SHOULD WORK. This will most likely be the first and last ASUS product I buy.
