Review on JSP Manufacturing Yellow Fuel Gas Can Vent Cap Chilton Briggs Rotopax Gott Anchor Multipack (Pack of 10) - Enhanced SEO by Mark Gardner

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Leaks when not glued. The quality of the seal depends on the quality of the hole.

These seals and vents are so-so. The vent cover is only moderately secure when pressed (closed), not very secure. The edges and recesses are not large enough to "click" the lock in more securely. The plastic isn't very soft either, so even with the recommended 31/64 drill bit (1/64" smaller than the 1/2" diameter of these gaskets). ), the gasket is not good if it is not glued in place. Unfortunately, almost no glue is resistant to gasoline. RTV Oil Resistant Silicone is moderately gasoline resistant and will perform normally when the seal is NOT submerged in water during normal storage (e.g. when the seal is on top of the can and the can is stored upright). Plastic bonders (various vendors like JBWeld etc.) also work moderately well, again only if the gasket isn't submerged in petrol. When submerged in water (like storing cans on their sides) no glue will seal them and I wouldn't trust the pressure seal to stay closed even with the slightest pressure of a few inches of gas. Even with these seals, I still remember my pre 2009 gas cylinders and will be depressed when the last one ruptures and fails.

Pros
  • Suitable for both plastic and metal fuel tanks. hole ventilation.
Cons
  • Doubtful
