These rugs are heavyweight and durable. The edge of the lip isn't very high, but the thickness and channels should be enough to handle a bit of water, snow, mud, etc. The anti-slip nubs on the bottom don't hold the mat in place very well. Luckily, the driver's mat only moves about an inch and then stops due to a left-side footrest interference. It's just a little annoying that it slides forward where I want it. Unlike other all weather (factory) floor mats I've had for the VW GTI and MB E300 which looked great, these seem to detract from the car's minimalist, upscale look. I prefer factory mats. So I reinstalled them and plan to only use the Road Comforts in the winter.
