Review on πŸ”΄ Scepter FR1G252 2 Gallon Gas Can with Spill Proof SmartControl Spout and Bonus Funnel for Fuel Storage, Red by Scott Reeves

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Not the best of the new valve systems, but second.

Over the years the entire environmental and health police force has pushed the industry towards more and more sophisticated mechanisms to try and prevent spills and leaks with gas canisters. Some of the previous attempts have failed, and most of them cause more leaks than they prevent. Scepter cans belong to a new generation of palm presses that work quite well. They are available from all major stores and are less expensive than the best alternative I have found. This mechanism has a safety lock similar (and just as annoying) to many air and power paddle powered tools. You have to flip the small flap forward to release the piston, and then you can push it down with your palm by pulling the wings around the nozzle with your fingers. It's quite stiff, especially at first, but once it opens up and flows it's not that hard to hold on to as long as you're in the right position for the can and whatever you're pouring. My main gripe with this particular design is that the angled body of the plunger, which may be more comfortable in the palm of your hand, causes the pressure to be at an angle so the plunger tends to get stuck when you try to push it . You have to consciously change the direction of the click in an unfavorable direction for it to occur smoothly. can avoid leaks. This is not always possible. The good thing about this glass is that it comes with a funnel extender. None of my 5 gallon cans had it, so I don't know if it's a new addition if it's not in the 5 gallon cans, or I just got dragged into big stores where it wasn't at the opening was attached. banks. The funnel is simply lost in the box it comes in. My only complaints are that it isn't very convenient to store and there were no instructions on how to store it so I was just guessing. You can't even tell from their photos and videos in the listing. Of course, it only fits on the filler neck, but that interferes with the latch (which isn't as easy to use anymore). It also means opening the can and dripping at least some gas out of the nozzle assembly every time you use it, then putting it back in. Where is this environmental protection?! I'm glad they added it, but they really should have come up with another way to attach it.

  • Lots of positive vibes

  • Some downsides
