I've had some free time at work and have an HDMI only TV which makes playing all my old game consoles a bit difficult. I was planning to buy a Pound adapter as it didn't have a built in HDMI port. I figured using the HDMI cable I use for my other consoles would be easier than trying to get to the other HDMI ports on the back of the TV. Unfortunately, the pound adapter was not available at that time, So I looked at this with a bit of hesitation. It arrived on time and works as advertised. I haven't tried using it without the power adapter, although they claim it's often not needed. I didn't use the HDMI cable that came with it either. I've seen a lot of reviews complaining about the quality and as mentioned above I've already hooked up an HDMI cable to other consoles which was easier to use. I haven't used it extensively but it worked flawlessly for me when I used it. and the picture quality is excellent. I don't have the most fashionable TV in the world, and I have realistic expectations. The build quality looks a bit cheap.
