Review on Complete Speedball Block Printing Starter Kit – Inclusive of Ink, Brayer, Lino Handle and Cutters, Speedy-Carve by Sasha Hsiao

Not a waste of money but the quality is top notch

I bought this set instead of some 'nameless' ones because I felt the quality would be more, everything gets better, but now that I've used it I'm not sure if it's true. As others have noted, it arrived in an unsealed envelope meaning its contents were completely crushed when it got to my house. Miraculously the ink didn't burst, but I was lucky. I was also fortunate that, contrary to some other reviewers' experiences, my set was complete. I didn't use briar and thought I probably won't (instead I paint the linoleum cuts with acrylic paint). So I can't say anything about the quality. If you buy this set despite my review, at least do yourself a favor and purchase additional blocks at the same time - there is only 1 in the set (although it can be flipped to use both sides). If the name "Speedball" is meant to mean that the cutting tools on the handle are easily interchangeable, that's a serious misnomer. It was difficult for the first few hours of use, having to unscrew/unscrew/pry/shake/shake/twist/curse every time and try to find a middle ground to insert and remove the blades until it finally froze completely was. and the blade that was there seems to be permanently stuck. Despite all the flaws I don't really regret buying this set as I wasn't sure I would use an expensive tool set to justify the investment. However,

Pros
