We bought this mainly because it was an easy travel option. It's easy to install and swap between cars if needed, but we liked it so much we bought a second one (hey, it's an affordable seat too!). This seat survived an episode of vomiting and was easy to remove and clean. When the cover is removed, only the plastic base needs to be cleaned (no foam or other padding). That bribed us when we got the second one! We ended up abandoning the more expensive car seat as the "primary" because we liked its simplicity. All car seats must meet minimum safety standards that they meet and exceed. We felt that the safety standards of today's cars make us feel safe behind the wheel with our daughter, so additional car seat warranties are probably unnecessary. This is a basic, no-frills seat. Some people might not like taking the seat out of the car to adjust the belts, but for us it's not a big deal. Again, this is a lightweight seat that is easy to install. Removing to adjust the straps is fairly easy. The buckle mechanism isn't as fluid as we'd like, and it doesn't have shoulder straps or extra padding. We have switched from a baby carrier to this so those using this seat from the start may need to purchase infant inserts/pillows to prevent that the baby falls.
