My trailer comes pre-wired with the much more expensive Furrion system. This system connects directly to the existing wiring harness. It lights up when you turn on the parking lights. This trailer has the camera mounted high off the ground next to the trailer roof. So first I positioned the camera so that I could see my bumper. I marked the corners of my trailer on the monitor. I then corrected the camera's field of view to continue following oncoming traffic. The monitor is a good size, even larger than what fits easily on my dashboard, but I was able to work with it. The suction cup mount was useless but the bracket mount is good. My trailer is 27 feet from hitch to bumper, but I've had no problem making a secure connection. The Furrion adapter mount is not plug and play. None of the mounting holes on the mount match the hole on the camera so I had to drill. The mounting bracket matched the trailer so it's ok but it took a star off for ease of installation. So yes, I would recommend this product.
