I installed this on the cold water line that goes to my water heater. After 4 weeks I see a significant improvement in water quality (shower walls are now limescale free) and the hot water pressure has increased by at least 30%. A very useful experiment for $20. Updated April 29, 2017. It's been over a year since I put it on the water pipe that goes to the water heater. This little device continues to work effortlessly and brilliantly. In the 2 years prior to installing this magnet my plumber had to drain and clean the water heater tank and replace the heating elements 3 times (ie about every 8 months) due to severe hard water build up. My kettle used to have to be soaked in vinegar every week to remove scale, and more often if I accidentally left water in it for more than a few hours. Sink taps had to be wiped down regularly with a cloth soaked in vinegar to remove limescale. Cleaning the tub/shower walls was very difficult due to the soap clogging with the hard water. NOW I can forget to empty the kettle for days and have no sign of build up. I no longer have to soak it in vinegar. Facets with no collateral as well as bathtubs. My water heater works fine without draining the water. I recommend this inexpensive hard water remedy to EVERYONE! Update April 26, 2018 This wonderful magnet held up without a single problem. The kettle still works perfectly. There are no limescale deposits in showers and sinks, washing machines and dishwashers. What a great product! Update July 1, 2019 The chemical-free water purifier continues to work great. My kettle, sink, bathtub, shower screen, faucet, shower head, washing machine and dishwasher are still lime-free. What a fantastic product!
