This item has bad stretch. I'm pretty sure it's leather and if not it's a good faux leather, that's for sure. What is also not very visible in the photos is the thong on the back. The buckles on the hips and front shoulder straps ensure a snug fit. It fits very well if you have a belly - 5ft 8in, 230lbs with a beer belly and I can fit in easily. The front is outlined under the belly and everything stays in place. VERY comfortable - it can be a little loose when you sit but that's ok, it will tighten up again when you stand up again. The front snaps on the cod hold in place well and it can be lowered to reveal everything - and then you can pull yourself together and snap it up right after you're done. If you are a man, like this type of clothing and can accept a thong, this is a good option. I'd appreciate seeing you like this UPDATE: Okay, it's PU. But the good news is that it's easy to clean. But this is really good artificial leather, and now I want real leather, so I have to save.
