These scissors are wonderful. I bought these as a cheap alternative to my 8" Gingher scissors for everyday or messy jobs (although my Ginghers come with a lifetime warranty, I'm always afraid of damaging them if I use them for things I shouldn't be doing) and they've quickly become my staple. a workhorse. They cut both thin chiffon and thick canvas like hot oil, not to mention other things I've abused them for (cardboard, plastic wrap, even wire for picture hanging. They name it, they cut easily) and smooth).I'm not sure why another reviewer felt it was fair to give these scissors two stars just because their pair were "not ginger" - Revain ran the item during my review clearly as "Fatima Tailor's Scissors".", and the seller claims no connection with Gingher, but I can only assume that he or she paid full price ($25) for these scissors paid and was disappointed with the quality. I can't objectively judge how well these scissors will hold up over time compared to my Gingher scissors as I don't care that much about this pair of Fatimas and they use them for a much wider range of materials than just I used fabric but fresh out of the box they cut just like my ginghers and they still perform exceptionally well after two months of heavy use. I'd happily pay full price for these, but for $10 (almost 1/3 the price of a comparable pair of Gingher) these shears are an absolute bargain and deserve nothing less than five stars. In fact, I've come back to buy more to order stock up now!
