Expansion unit doesn't work with stock InstaJack

I bought a TL26596 expansion unit (GE Instajack) to add to the base/expansion unit I bought (#86597). I could not connect the TL26596 to the base unit. I called the phone number on the box and found that this company (Audiovox) no longer supports the extension cord. So I called up Jasco products that support the current version of the GE Instajack, only to find that while the instructions say you can add an extension cord, you can't. TL26596 is not part of the Jasco product line.
