Given the low cost compared to other tool operated vacuums, this is a bargain. And it's pretty quiet, the filter and bag can be easily replaced, the filter can clean itself, which is pretty cool. However, I did get one (actually two of them) for use in my tool shop and I blew one because it was connected to my miter saw. I overlooked that it is only rated for 6 amps when the tool is activated. My 12" double bevel Dewalt miter saw was pulling a little more than that when I ran into the problem. I actually used it this way for a month, but cutting 2" hard maple caused a lot of pull on the saw. I use it with my random orbit sander and other handheld power tools with no problem, and I don't get much power through it most of the time my miter saw so it was fine initially. Unfortunately there is no replaceable fuse here. That would be my suggestion (besides a more reliable rating). So if the built in fuse is blown the vacuum cleaner will still work like a normal vacuum cleaner but if you putting something in the tool activated plug will start the vacuum whether the tool is on or not, so the vacuum still works like a vacuum and I can turn it on and off manually, but the tool activation feature doesn't do anything A fuse is much easier than replacing a vacuum cleaner replacing a small circuit board wouldn't be so bad. Well, with that said, it appears Karcher is trying to replace the device. EDIT: Follow up - Karcher replaced entire unit for free including shipping. So their customer service is great and I really like the product. It simply cannot be used with larger power tools that draw more than 6 amps.
