Review on 🚘 Traxion 5-100 Tailgate Ladder: Easy Access for Your Vehicle's Rear, Black Finish by Joe Montalvo

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Much more "thready " than I was hoping for!

1st update required. They now come with two different top bars, each containing a rubber bumper, but do NOT come assembled according to the instructions.2. It takes LOTS of measurements, checks with the tailgate open and closed, and trial and error with the mounting plate to ENSURE it and the last ladder DO NOT interfere with the tailgate closing and the steel cable holding your tailgate is not below the flat/level Position! And also. If you have a trunk lid, make sure the final assembly doesn't interfere with it!3. Once installed the owner's manual does not follow the latest method of securing the ladder in the tailgate if you stow the ladder to keep it inside when the tailgate is closed. But. You will understand.4. It takes a bit of trying and deciding which holes to poke the ladder in to land on the ground/surface such that it's about 15-20 degrees off vertical (logical - easier to climb) AND two top ones Rungs (wish I knew what they're called) are roughly horizontal to the ground. Not a difficult task, but you do need to make sure you choose a good set of holes for attaching the bottom ladder. My truck is very TALL (raises on axles) so this problem needed to be solved.5. My BIGGEST DANGER: Ultimately, this is a very "wobbly" and unreliable ladder! You need to make sure it's firmly on the ground, the crossbars are level, out of the way of the tailgate down cable, and then try to climb on it! You will find that the lift is a bit unstable! And the bars are narrow and not very supportive! It is better to wear good shoes with hard soles! And hold on to the upper side wall of the loading area when climbing up! It is NOT a difficult feeling to easily climb onto the tailgate! 6. But. It's better than trying to jump in there, get on your knees, or pull out a stool or short ladder from somewhere else!
