Review on Panasonic DVD S700P K Up Converting Region Player by Randy Perry

This DVD player does NOT play all claimed regions and for that reason alone I am only giving it one star. It doesn't even play many of our US region 1 discs. To be clear, most of our DVDs are region 1 or 2 (US or Europe) and they are all legitimate store bought DVDs in mint condition so they should function; but this player has no rhyme or reason which he will actually play. It reads some discs but writes "This disc is not formatted for playback in this region" on others. Weird and annoying! We can't even watch half the movies we have and now it's too late to return this item or I would. from the box. I don't have the time nor the technical knowledge to figure out how to hack this player. So if anyone has a solution for this or can recommend a real non-region player I would be very grateful.
