Great little machine with good suction. Two tips: If your head starts to get clogged with dirt, use DAWN dish soap. Lay the Dawn on its side first and tilt it while the water in your sink heats up. After 3 or 4 minutes, rinse the side of the spout where the suction starts, rinse the part of the hose that connects to the machine for a few minutes, and then repeat these steps for the other side. After that, the suction was like new again. After all, simply emptying a dirty tank isn't going to get rid of the odor if you're cleaning up animal accidents, for example. There is a black removable seal at the bottom of the dirt tank. Remove it and be prepared to be disgusted. Even after several cleanings, deposits always accumulate there. Rinse the gasket itself and the holes into which it enters, the smell will disappear. Make sure you put the gasket back in the correct position, there is a small notch on the gasket itself to help you. Also, only use DAWN dishwashing liquid, other products we tried didn't work at all. Be careful when cleaning your head to avoid burning yourself. Hope that helps
