I have to admit that I hesitated a bit before agreeing to write a review for this massage oil because the thought of putting castor oil on my back made me disgusted. My very little experience with castor oil hasn't made a good impression on me. Luckily, it doesn't smell like castor oil at all. It really smells amazing. Smells of lavender essential oil. No artificial lavender scent, but pure and genuine lavender essential oil. I understand why this oil is called "Massage and Aromatherapy". Just the smell of lavender relaxes me. In terms of effectiveness, this oil is by far one of the best massage oils I've used. My husband and I have a nightly ritual where we take turns rubbing our backs after a hard, stressful day. We mostly use shea butter. Let me tell you this stuff is way better than shea butter. It doesn't leave a sticky feeling on your back and continues to spread. A small amount is enough and it stays on the skin for a long time before you need to apply more. It's a smooth feel and a wonderful rub. As you can see in my photo of my hand it leaves an oily residue so we found we had to wipe off the excess afterwards.
