Doesn't work right out of the box

Not sure if I'm just unlucky because the reviews on this product looked great but I can't get my device to work. I connected it to all ports on my 15" Macbook Pro with Touch Bar and none of them worked with this product. It doesn't seem to fit the connector all the way, but if I press any harder I'll damage my laptop. I was very excited to try this product and use it for college and such but unfortunately I will be returning it and trying a different brand. Purchase at your own risk.
