First, it works. However, depending on the thickness of your rack/cabinets underneath (I have a 3/4 inch wide board with a Silestone top) the threads can be quite short. I only have a few threads. It also doesn't have a ring on top of the counter to hold it in place when you remove the metal cover. The metal cap screws on and holds it in place. So if you have to take it off to clear out the trash, it falls under the counter. Also, the plastic cap on the inside that drains the water back down is very difficult to remove when you need to open it to clean. Cleaning isn't something you do on a regular basis, but it may be necessary from time to time, which is why it seems like it's poorly designed to make it so difficult.
