I have Windows 8. I had to install the drivers manually so I go to TP-Link website and download the driver for the V3 hardware version which has the release date 2018-11 specified is -09. Today is December 26th, 2018. I download and install and my windows device manager says the driver date is 2018-2-12 with version 1030.22.202.2018. The product description says it can use 2.4GHz and 5.0GHz for 802.11a/b/n/ac, but my 2018 MacBook can see 5.0GHz networks and the default wireless "Auto" driver seems to be 2 .4 GHz networks prioritize or prioritize 802.11n over 802.11a/n and 5 GHz that my router is running. As a result, my adapter kept connecting me to a slow and unstable 2.4GHz network. Excellent "auto" equipment. I had to troubleshoot my MacBook's Wi-Fi scanner tool to discover that my NIC interface was connecting to the 2.4GHz BSSID and not the 5GHz BSSID that my MacBook was connected to . After adjusting the driver options, I was able to connect with the correct BSSID.
