Perfect replacement for the useless extra socket (cigarette lighter) on the center console of my 2015 Malibu. I used a half round file to open up the mounting hole a bit and routed the positive wire straight to the battery so I could charge my phone when the car was off. There is a battery management system and there is no constant "hot" in the car except for the battery management ECU, the main ECU and the OBD2 port. This made the piwer switch mandatory so I could turn it off when not in use.
