I have never worn this style but I risked ordering them without seeing my eyes. They are well made and have a more pointed toe than other "reasonable boots" so they feel snug the first time you wear them. Because of the stretching of the skin, I can wear my normal size if I only wear thin socks. There is no main arch support here. So if you need to add them, you can order them by size. It's not sexy shoes, not athletic shoes, a bit chunky, but I like them because they fit my feet and aren't chunky. I understand why this style is popular and I'm impressed with the range of materials used. The black leather shoes I received were made in Ethiopia. I like to wear them when I'm walking my dog when I don't want to wear sneakers because they protect my feet better than sandals but are just as light.
