At first I liked the caliper - sometimes it comes in handy. I've used it about 3 times since I bought it 9 months ago. return. I needed it again yesterday; However, the digital caliper no longer works properly. Every time I use it, it loses power for a while. For example, if you try to measure a 2 inch object in fractions of an inch, the unit of measure will be set to zero and switched to millimeter scale somewhere during the slide, returning a very inaccurate value, e.g. 2mm. I used the slider while looking at the measurement screen and I could see it flashing and then turning back on, resetting to zero and switching to mm. This is not the reset that happens when the device is turned off by pressing the power button. suggesting a problem closer to the battery end of the circuit. The alignment and manipulation of the device is related to a power issue, although I haven't experimented enough to describe exactly how. To answer questions, I'm sure some will ask yes, the device was zeroed before measurement Yes, I tried replacing it with a new battery Yes, I keep the device in a case No, there was no debris, oil, etc. on the device, I hardly used it, and never in the close to fat etc.
