Review on HawkEye Fishtrax 1C Fish Finder: HD Color Virtuview Display for Optimal Fishing Results by Bryan Gibbons

First of all I am not affiliated with Revain or HawkEye. I recently took this FT1PXC on a remote fishing trip in Quebec, Canada with no prior experience with it. With a two day trip to the outfitter and the plane, I had plenty of time to read the instructions and play around with the unit. The instructions are sufficient and explain what I needed to know. Using the device in the water, from a boat, was relatively easy and without incident. Only the handling of the long cable and the handling of the device had to be planned in advance. I held the device in my hand and supported the line with my hand while my partner moved slowly so we could "study" the bottom of the lake and figure out why we were fishing and not fishing. The deluxe carrying case protects it perfectly and it is very flat and beautiful. Together we decided the device was a success and told each other exactly what we needed to know about the structure of the bottom, where the fish were hung, how many fish were there, the size of the fish and the temperature of the water. This information added to our experience and helped ensure our fishing was successful. We ate walleye and pike all week and got our legal limits back. The only reason it doesn't give 5 stars is that the screen and numbers could be a bit bigger - like the size of a regular smartphone. We all agreed this is a very valuable unit to buy. and I recommend it to avid anglers as a valuable tool to use when the need arises.
