I used this to prepare a new NVME disk for an upgrade. I put a new drive in the case (Samsung EVO), cloned it using Samsung's free data transfer software, and then put in the cloned drive. The case works well, no tools are needed to open it. The metal case acts as a heat sink, which is good since some SSDs can get hot. An important note: It comes with two notched rubber pins to secure the NVME drive. You only need one and you need to move it to the right position for the size of your SSD. By default, the contacts are in position for shorter drives. You need to remove both pins, set one aside and insert the other into the semi-circular notch on the SSD. When you insert the SSD, the pin will line up exactly with one of the holes in the tray. The correct use and position of the rubber pins can be found in the photos in the product description (on this page). Do not try to insert a disc without placing the pins in the correct place.
