I love this duvet. It's like climbing under a cloud every night. I sleep very well, but even at the end of the summer I was neither hot nor cold. The side of the "mink" that faces your skin is so beautiful. The trouble came when my cute dog vomited on my beautiful blanket. I haven't washed it yet because I was scared, but now I had no choice. It washes well and although it was heavy I managed to get it out onto the patio and laid it out on the patio furniture to dry. When I brought it back inside it still had a few stains on it so I put it in the dryer and decided to turn it on for 5 minutes. Otherwise I would just turn on the air. After 5 min. My timer went off and I took it out of the dryer to rearrange it and to my dismay there were already a few melted spots. I checked and it turned out that the melted spots were on the edges of the blanket, and not in its main part. I put it on the furniture in the living room to dry completely. My advice is never to put it in the dryer at any temperature setting (not even mine which was the lowest possible). I'm taking off 2 stars because if you follow the manufacturer's washing and drying instructions, you'll end up with a huge chunk of melted plastic.
