I installed it as soon as I received it. I attached it to my Reese hitch. My first impression was that he seemed stronger than I had imagined. It's at least 3/4 inch thick along the step and seems very strong. Installation was very easy; All you need is a #3 Phillips screwdriver and the ability to bend fairly well. The supplied plastic seal is halfway useless. , but I installed it anyway following the instructions. I first tightened the 4 Phillips head screws with a screwdriver but could see some backlash from the pitch. To fix this I used an impact wrench on the bolts to about 30 ft-lbs of torque. Be careful not to tear off the screw heads. This eliminates any tread play and certainly prevents possible tread theft (along with my locking pin). like Philips screws as there is a higher risk of them coming loose. Torx screws would be a much better substitute. can also be used with a trailer.
