As obvious from the price, you will get what you pay for with these helmets. We're old people getting into ebikes after some time away from regular biking. We're slow cruisers that stick to wide bike paths to look at scenery and birds. We're not zipping down single tracks or heading out on the roadways. So all I was looking for was something light and comfortable with decent protection should we tip over. For our use, I think these will be adequate. However, I would not recommend them for high speed sports or for children. Unless of course, it's your least favorite kid or grandkid! The helmets themselves are comfortably light weight, but feel like they have good density foam. The removable "padding" is paper thin. So thin you feel like you may rip it by removing it to wash it - and if you do want to wash it, you would have to be very careful doing so. The strap material is just sturdy enough to keep the helmet secure. However, you may have to fiddle with the straps a great deal to get them adjusted for the first time. Which, for me, involved practically re-threading them through the entire helmet to get them to line up to fit around the ears and get the chin strap centered. Two visors are provided, which is probably a good thing, because the little nubs to snap them to the helmet with are crap. I also had to tug and 'stretch' the plasic a bit to get those nubs to line up with the holes on the helmet as well. The twist tensioner for the hat band is decent and clicks securely to snug up the helmet where you like it. So the helmet doesn't slop at all, which is nice. The LED light needs to be removed from the helmet for charging. I used the eraser end of a pencil to poke through the holes inside the helmet to push the light out. The light itself is very bright, and the three modes are a bonus. It is not a high quality item though. The connector at the back of the light had to be nudged over a bit to get it to line up with the hole so I could get the cord plugged into it. I think the helmet will outlast the life of the light. Overall, if VERY basic protection at slow speeds is what you're after, these helmets "might" be okay. But for serious protection for your noggin, look elsewhere and be willing to spend the money on them.
