Bought for game hunting. Since I wanted a tripod that would support my large Redfield scope, this one works great. Yes, it's a bit heavy, but that's my scope. The platform fits snugly on it and you can get spares for whatever else you use the tripod for. The head rotates well and is padded to prevent rocking with a heavy object on it. It would have been better to have at least a foam covered shoulder upper, but I've adapted. The leg sections use a clip which is preferred over twist locks. Slides out easily and the center post adds just enough length
