I've seen these in the past and once had one over my teenage girl's sofa. My youngest daughter loves all things princess related and I thought it would be fun to make her a little place to relax. She has outgrown her toddler/cot mattress but I just feel like throwing away a perfectly good mattress is such a waste of time. Instead I decided to create a small cozy space for them. I have sheets that match the bed and there are lots of fluffy pink pillows on the back of the mattress to keep them all against the wall. After the bed/sofa was set up, I proceeded to set up the canopy. The pink canopy fabric is soft and thick! Was pleasantly surprised at the quality. As I unfolded it, I wondered if I needed to iron the fabric to smooth out the creases. So thankful I didn't have to do this as it saved me a step! The fabric appears to be wrinkle resistant, which may have something to do with the weight. There is a plastic hook for hanging, which is attached with screws and dowels. I just centered the spot I wanted and set it up with my drill. The hook can remain on the ceiling, but the canopy can be removed. Alternatively, a 3m hook can be used, particularly for rental areas where screws and dowels are not appropriate. The entire installation went smoothly and quickly! It worked great as my little one couldn't wait to get in. There is a small garland of gold stars that can be hung around the top for added sparkle. The cutouts are solid, but when they get tangled, it's a headache. I needed to unroll mine more slowly and have an idea of how I plan to use it before taking it out completely. Lesson learned. Slowly unravel and process the canopy. After the canopy was hung on the wall, I draped the sides on either side of the mattress. I even thought it would be nice to hang some strings on either side. This way the canopy stays draped but has a very nice large opening. They could be unhooked at any time.
