I started shaving with a double edge razor about two years ago and started with the Derby as it was the most recommended starter blade set for beginners. In short, they're enough to get you going, but soon you'll want to upgrade to something better. The blades are on the blunter end of the scale compared to razors. You're less likely to cut yourself if you make a mistake. The downside is that you only get a few decent razors before the blade starts pulling on the bristles, which can cause significant razor burn. Having borrowed a set of asters from a friend, the difference was day and night. Still, its short half-life didn't stop me from finishing the pack. If you're just getting started with wet shaving with double-edged razors, this is a good place to start. I just don't expect you to want to stay at these levels for too long.
