Looks the same, feels the same, works the same as far as I can tell. It's pretty hard to replace if you don't know what you're doing. I'm mechanical by nature but needed a video to help me and it was basically just a nuisance process but in my case it was difficult to tear off the old one because for some reason my old one melted on the shaft. Yes it was fun. When I replaced it, I bent the shaft a bit because the old fan literally melted onto the shaft. *Don't ask, I just turn around and my wife yells about her smoking.* Now it looks like I'll have to replace the shaft as it's starting to go haywire again, but I've had this vacuum since 2009 and now only problems. Worth every penny. It just gets old and the parts start to wear out and it's time to replace them. Unfortunately I bent the shaft so mine is a little worse, but that's my fault. Be careful when removing the old one. DO NOT pry it unevenly like my idiot. Find a way to separate it EVENLY (2 flat heads or something on opposite ends, make a little square pattern or something - should be fine). If it melts like mine, it will be a female, so take your time. Use a razor blade to remove the old gasket around the head (DO EVERYTHING) and make sure you buy some silicone sealant to replace the old gasket and let it dry for 24 hours before using again use. Replace whatever is in the bag because the blade is so difficult to get at that it's not worth doing it twice just to replace a small washer. There are no instructions, so look it up on YouTube or get a service manual.
