IPL is not an instant cure for unwanted body hair. It is not a permanent cure for unwanted body hair. It's a process that requires patience but yields acceptable results in the end. Most IPLs I've tested, including this one, recommend treating 2-3 times a week for the first month and then once a week for the next month. After that, you can probably get by with treatment every few months. The instructions for this IPL are poorly translated into Chinese. This is my pet corn. I really wish the manufacturers in China would pay a few bucks to have someone really fluent in English write the manuals. Once you understand how to use the device, it's actually quite simple. You hold down the power button until the device turns on. You then press a button to adjust the intensity (see the manual for the right setting for your skin tone and hair color). Now you're good to go. In manual mode, place the device against your skin (make sure you wear goggles) and press a button. A bright light will flash and you may also feel a flash of heat. It doesn't hurt, even for people with sensitive skin. Repeat this process until you have removed all of the hair that you wish to remove. This device has a convenient automatic mode. If you press and hold the Zap button, the device will switch to automatic mode. The screen will show NO CHANGES to inform you that automatic mode is activated. In automatic mode, the device automatically flashes when it touches the skin. The button does not need to be pressed. This is a wired device. It is not rechargeable. All in all, this is a good IPL. I'm deducting a star for the poorly written manual and the lack of any display when entering auto mode. I also wish the manufacturer had NOT included the $.10 razor. This cheapens the overall look of the system and no one who can afford this product will ever use this razor. They will use a better one.
