Revision April 3, 2019 After months of using the replacement unit that we received I am pleased to report that the Hahaspace air purifier works well and does its job perfectly. Purifying the air in my home office. All previous complaints from me are moot and I can say with certainty that this is the best air purifier available as I have tried quite a few others. Now I give it the deserved 5 stars. Editorial June 27, 2018 We received a replacement as soon as the Hathaspace Purifier was back in stock. I have upgraded the rating to 3 stars due to their excellent customer service. They kept in touch with me, informed about the replacement and paid for the return of the defective one. Sometimes a product is defective through no fault of the seller, but the seller is responsible for the repair, in this case Hathaspace did just that. I'll add that of the four different air purifiers we've owned that range in price from $99 to $200, the Hathaspace is by far the best of the bunch. Hope the replacement lasts. I'll revisit this review later when we know how the replacement will perform as intended. Update June 10, 2018 I would like to comment on Hathaspace's customer service. After writing the above review, they immediately contacted me and offered a refund or replacement of the product. Since Hahaspace was the best of the (now) three other air purifiers we tried, we were very disappointed that it didn't work so soon after purchase. When it worked properly, it was great at purifying the air and giving it a smell and a feeling of freshness. However, as I mentioned above, it initially had a plastic smell that seemed to wear off over time, and when it broke that plastic smell returned many times more noticeable. Unfortunately, these products are not made from BPA-free plastic. Because of their excellent customer service, I'm only upgrading the rating to two stars because I feel that reviews should be more about the product than customer service, although customer service is certainly an important aspect. But better customer service cannot make up for a faulty product. If Hahaspace sends us a replacement I will update the progress of the new product and give it a fair and honest second rating. I sincerely hope the original one we purchased is just a rare manufacturing defect because overall it's a great product when working properly.
