The width is perfect for tucking into the folds of a chair so the non-slip padding keeps it in place very well. The texture is somewhere between fleece and velvet (rather matte and not as shiny or deeply fluffy as typical velvet). The material is quite thick (a few mm including the back) and feels warm. Note that the sides and back just hang down, making it look more like a chair cover than a tight-fitting cover. There was a slight plastic smell when unpacking, but that went away after two days. The case itself gets very hot. for summer but it improves with an extra towel on your back. I've already wiped body fluids off the chair cover and they came off without a trace, which is an unexpected plus.
