Review on πŸ”§ Dewalt DCD791D2 Compact Li-Ion Brushless Drill by Adam Browning

Powerful, No: Power and Hand Tools

The power of this cordless drill is amazing. You can really feel the engine torque turning it easily in your hand as you pull the trigger. The task lighting is thoughtful and bright, just like everything else. The keyless chuck works smoothly, but more on that later. I would also say that it is well designed in terms of ergonomics and having two batteries from the start is excellent. Even a brushless drill will drain batteries quickly on a big project, much faster on a drill than a screwdriver. Here's the problem: I left it in my garage for 2 weeks along with my other Dewalt power tools that I had a few. there for over 15 years. Imagine my surprise when I discovered that the part of the chuck that grips the drill was covered in a solid layer of RUST! I checked my other Dewalt corded drills and none of them were rusty. only new I don't know if Dewalt saved a buck by not making this part out of stainless steel or if they had to switch to carbon steel to provide the strength needed for engine performance in a 1/2" cartridge. , but they should have put a warning in the instructions that the chuck needs to be lubricated with oil as it's not stainless steel.
