Review on Networx Loop Back Adapters (1 by Pavel Craig

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Got one today, paid to get one, high hopes, didn't work

The item description says "All you have to do is just get one Connect the Networx(tm) Gigabit RJ45 Loopback Tester to the port you want to test or suspect. If the link LED on your switch is active, it means the connection is working properly." I did. I was looking forward to plugging it into outlets around my house, to my 24-port home switch too go and see which port serves that outlet because the original installers didn't label them on the switch. Nope. Neither port caught fire. When I plug in a laptop or something like that, the switch ports light up. So, the outlets, The ones I've tried actually work but this little thing doesn't. I've tried the other way too. Just unplug a wire from the amp near the switcher while getting power from the switcher and plug that wire into the outlet I expected both of these cases to work, and TAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA EVER that it worked. Now I have to go around the house, plugging and unplugging real devices, and monitoring actual bundles of spaghetti cables to see what's plugged into each of the 24 ports. Pooh.

Pros
  • Use spare patch cords to connect similar computing devices
Cons
  • boring packaging
