I think this item was poorly packaged due to the lack of instructions on how to install the handle. If you've worked with 3M Command Strips before, you know that attaching the hook to the wall takes a few steps. Unfortunately, the gripper does not come with enough instructions so I have a feeling some people are having trouble mounting it on the wall. It's important to clean the wall area first with rubbing alcohol or acetone (disclaimer: depending on the type of paint on your wall, it may discolour a bit, so try an inconspicuous area first). After the wall has dried, press the handle firmly against the wall and leave for at least 3 hours before hanging the towel. I let my 24 hours stand just to be on the safe side. Using this method I kept my grip through weeks of intense use and that sucker isn't going anywhere! Also, I use my towel with a heavy kitchen towel, which is more like a bathroom towel than a traditional kitchen towel. I wasn't sure if this design would go well with a thicker towel, but it fits perfectly and I like this piece a lot more than the hook I had before.
