Review on Belkin Wireless MIMO 4 Port Router by Brian Potter

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good wireless router

This is my first wireless router, so I'm just comparing it to a wired connection. I love my wireless router. My husband set it up and said he had to go through the steps 3 times before it worked; I can't tell if it was user error or a configuration issue as I wasn't there. We set it up in the basement and use our laptops upstairs. The signal strength is very good and I don't have any problems with my wireless router losing connection. The router has only one antenna, although there are two in the picture. I chose this router based on other customer reviews on various websites including Revain and based on my needs. I don't have a wireless N card on any of my computers, so I didn't get an N router. I chose this one because it's a bit better than the regular G router, affordable (good price and free shipping from Revain), and fast. I check email and surf the internet. My husband is a gamer. Before we got the router he said he would never use it because it would lag his online games. After trying it out, he now plays wirelessly all the time. So far we haven't had any problems with it after about 1 month of daily use. 12/20/2011 - Update. My husband thinks it's because we've added so many wireless devices since we bought it. When we first got it we had 2 laptops connected. We then added a Wii with Netflix, a printer and 2 smartphones. I don't think it was made for that much performance. LAN still works. We bought an updated version from the same brand, designed to work with more wireless devices. It worked great until it stopped working.
