This is a versatile stand with a durable and unique design. It worked so well in my kitchen my laptop/tablet didn't get hit by the counter and was at eye level. And so less strain on the neck. Height adjustment makes it easy to raise and lower the stand. However, the plate that holds the laptop is a little tricky to adjust, making it even more stable. I have used this stand with my tablet and have not had any issues with it shaking when using the touchscreen. And my pleasant surprise, it is also very convenient to use when sitting on a chair or on the couch.
