My older lab loves this bed; He spends far less time "shaking it out" than any other bed he's had over the years. It stays quite fluffy for a while but loses some of its loft over time. The fabric is very durable, remains soft and looks good despite heavy use. Now the downside; DO NOT EVEN TRY TO REMOVE THE COVER TO WASH. Because the fabric of the case is so fluffy, the zipper was hopelessly clogged with fibers at both the top and bottom. After spending over an hour cutting and pulling out the zipper fiber and only managing to unzip the zipper about 9 inches, I gave up completely and threw out all the junk. That being said, I'll still buy one of these beds because he loves it so much, but now I know it's only good as long as you can deal with the dog smell.
