Seems to work: Car Care

I installed some of this on one of my closet doors to get a feel for the installation. 1st attempt failed. I noticed two issues: 1) I bent the corners too tight which resulted in 2) the adhesive not making contact with the mounting surface. I have read/seen that you cannot remove and reapply this material. I took a chance and removed a 3 to 4 ft piece (call me cheap but $2+ ft) I figured I'd take a chance. After removing, I rubbed the surface again with rubbing alcohol, and this time I took a heat gun and heated the mounting surface a bit so it was warm to the touch. I then slightly heated the mounting tape and glued it to the mounting surface. Wow I think it's going to take a hammer and chisel to remove it. When I started doing the corners of the shading, I warmed up that part a little more than the other areas. This makes the product very pliable and allows the corners to be rounded fairly close to the frame. I am delighted with this product so far. I washed my van the other day and there was no water on the cargo door seal. I still want to put a small bead of 3M's 4200 between this product and the door frames for a more permanent application.
