Review on ๐ŸŽฎ Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo Wii U by Ross Bagby

Another great SSB for legacy systems

Fantastic addition to the SSB range. This add-on contains a lot of new single player content that is really fun, as well as a lot of multiplayer content including the ability to play with up to 8 players. One of the fun and interesting new modes is a random battles board game, similar to the Mario Party type, but with the ultimate winner being determined by the final battle. The final battle is influenced by the statistics that players have collected on the board during the game. Another cool feature is the ability to sync between the 3DS version of the game and the Wii U version. Players can transfer created characters like Mii Fighters between systems and use both systems to upgrade amiibo figures. In addition, the 3DS version can connect to the Wii U and act as a player controller on the Wii U, which is handy for players who learned the game on the 3DS for the first time. Speaking of amiibo, this game probably has my favorite amiibo support out of any Wii U or 3DS game I've owned. Amiibo are loaded as characters that you play against alone or with friends. Amiibos learn over time, leveling up from 1 to 50, and actually "learn" based on the movesets used against them. I experienced this with my Zelda when she was learning to dodge a certain combo I was using on her. Stats are also added/removed from amiibo characters through in-game items. All in all, I would suggest that if you have a Wii U, you get the game.

Pros
  • Lots of positive vibes
Cons
  • No power
