I still have thick hair but I like to shave my head and have been shaving my head occasionally (mostly) for the past 15 years and this machine is perfect for the look I want: This is Shave My Head as short as possible and leaves a very, very, very light stubble that you can still see my hairline. And this clipper does it because it comes with the shortest Wahl blade, which is a 6x0 blade and cuts to 0.2mm. Also, the guide combs make it very easy to do multiple types of transitions if you wish. And the V5000 motor that comes with this clipper is powerful and delivers a GOOD, SMOOTH and VERY CORRECT CUT WITH ABSOLUTELY NO SHOCKING OR CUTTING. scalp. For those who are complaining about cutting their heads with these clippers, I think: 1) you are not holding the clippers properly, 2) you are using the wrong angle, 3) your blades are misaligned, or 4) a combination of one or more of these things. Also, for those who swear by those clippers because they don't shave your head like Mr. Clean, use a razor blade, not clippers. Because no matter what clippers or trimmers you buy, they will NEVER EVER shave your head like a razor because it must have a bottom blade and a top edge, and no matter how thin someone can make the bottom blade, there will ALWAYS be between the scalp and the be the upper cutting blade. Basically, you're giving this clipper a bad review because you're expecting it to do something it wasn't designed to do. It's like buying a supercharged Hemi V8 and then complaining about gas mileage. Either way, the clippers feel solid and well-made despite being made of plastic. And it fits comfortably in both my hands, and the power cord is much thicker and longer (8ft) than my other buzzers, which is nice. And I was a little worried about the clipper getting hot due to the more powerful motor, but it stayed cool for 35-40 minutes. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND these clippers for people who don't want to look like Mr. Clean but have a very, very closely shaved head. For everyone else, use a razor blade.
