Everything about the filter said it would fit my GE fridge. When the package of three filters arrived I removed the old filter, but to my regret I didn't compare the connector design of my old filter to the new filter, so I didn't understand that the protruding center in the new filter didn't match match the depressed center of the old filter (the protrusion in the center is in the slot in the fridge!) When I tried to install a new filter, I couldn't put the filter in the socket. This filter receiver sits in the far corner of GE and is extremely inconvenient to reach. A side flange was stuck under the receiver flange and I thought there was a filter in there, but water was splashing all over the fridge. Finally, I pulled the new filter out of the tank and the water kept bubbling. The pressure I put on the jar pushed it into the body of the fridge so I couldn't stop the old water filter from splashing water. Finally, I moved the fridge far enough away from the wall that I could reach through the opening in the cabinet to shut off the water and keep the fridge from flooding. After mopping and wiping water off the kitchen floor and in the fridge, I looked at the filters and noticed a difference in their design. The new filter was never intended for my fridge, although my fridge is listed as the one it was designed for. I was so disgusted that I threw the three filters in the trash instead of trying to return them. The subtle filter difference can be seen in the photo: three new filters in the box and my old filter on the outside. Now I have an old Ge fridge that has no water on the door or in the ice maker. I make ice cream in old ice buckets and place the ice cream in an ice basket for convenient door-to-door delivery and place a jug of cold water on the top shelf of the fridge. When you order this filter, compare it carefully to the one you are replacing. Don't believe the claims on the Revain website or on the packaging. I have ordered Revain GE equivalent water filters a few times now with no problems. I won't have to order them again as the water filter in the fridge is broken and unusable. Spring.
