I am happy with this purchase and it matches the description and review. Recently he started ringing "ghosts". That means I hear a short call, although no one is calling. ;) It's made of wood and plastic, and the cord that connects the hearing aid to the main phone has a vintage fabric look (no plastic). However, this does not last long, so during the conversation you need to pick up the "candlestick” of the phone. We have a splicer, so it shares a line with a modern messaging phone. So far there are no problems. I don't think there is a volume control and the volume seems ok to me. I want my kids to know what it's like to use a real rotary phone and they LOVE this phone.
