I ordered this for a Standard Poodle mix puppy that is currently 13 lbs and on the thin side. I ordered a small and it’s much too large. It fits around her neck, but the portion that pulls is so long that it tangles in her mouth and is weighed down by the leash so it mostly just hangs. I tried it on my 15 lbs Havanese and it was bulky on him, too. She will be 45 lbs fully grown so I will report back once she grows. It seems durable though so I think a medium and larger would be a good purchase, but for little dogs, even the small is too large. In terms of function, it appears to do what it states: it tightens when pulled, then relaxes to flat. It doesn’t relax flat to its original position when on my dogs, but it does relax flat when I was trying it with my hands. That could be because the size is too big for my small dogs, however, so don’t let that deter you.
