I use them to practice Wing Chun Kung Fu in my house which is mostly carpeted. In Leung Sheung Wing Chun, many of the moves require you to shift your weight and direction effectively through the middle of your feet, which means your feet must be able to rotate and slide without much resistance or you'll soon feel a "shear force" in your knees and ankles. Wing Chun should ideally be practiced on wood or tile where traditional cotton-soled kung fu shoes will suffice. However, kung fu shoes do not slip or spin on the carpet. Hence the need for these overshoes. In general, they were effective, but quickly wore out. They are not as durable as the "dance shoes" that you can also buy on this site. It seems to me that the PS overshoes are actually an inferior copy of the DS overshoes (DanceShoes). The markings are similar, but the DS overshoes are made of a heavier material that glides better. So while they worked well for a month, they soon developed holes and scuffs on the sides and bottom, preventing them from being as effective as dance shoes.
